A whole house fan is high-volume fan that cools a home in the evening and early morning hours, allowing the air conditioner to be manually turned off.
How Does It Work?
A whole house fan is mounted in the attic along with a ceiling mounted shutter in a hallway. The homeowner opens sufficient windows then turns the fan on. The shutter opens and the fan pulls the warm air out of the house into the attic pushing it out of the roof or gable vents while cooling the attic. At the same time, cooler outdoor air gets drawn into the home thru the open windows.
What is The Incentive?
