Idaho Power employees log more than 10 million driving miles each year, and as a new school year begins, the company reminds customers to join them in refocusing on safe driving. With the increase in schoolchildren on sidewalks and near roads, now is the time to recommit to using extra caution when driving.
Put cellphones away, slow down near crosswalks, and stop for buses that are loading or unloading.
Idaho Power also recommends walking around your vehicle immediately before driving to ensure children aren’t in blind spots behind your vehicle — something the energy company recommends all their employees do as well. And while it’s still hot outside, continue to look before you lock, checking for kids or pets before exiting your vehicle.
