BOISE, Idaho — Following its May 16 annual meeting of shareowners, Idaho Power has announced the appointment of Dennis L. Johnson as the new independent chair of the board of directors for Idaho Power and its parent company, IDACORP, succeeding retiring board chair Richard J. Dahl. Prior to IDACORP’s annual meeting, Dahl retired from the board in accordance with the company’s mandatory director retirement age policy. Dahl had served on the board since 2008.

Johnson has been a prominent member of the Treasure Valley business community for more than 40 years, serving as president, CEO, and a director of United Heritage Mutual Holding Company from 2001 to 2020, and of United Heritage Financial Group and United Heritage Life Insurance Company from 1999 to 2020. “We are thrilled to welcome Dennis Johnson as our new board chair,” said Lisa Grow, President and CEO of IDACORP and Idaho Power. “Dennis is an outstanding business leader with strong ties to Idaho Power’s service area, and has been a great asset to IDACORP’s governance team for more than a decade. I know he will help us continue to grow and thrive as we build for the future. I also want to thank and recognize Richard for his many contributions to IDACORP and Idaho Power over the past 16 years, including the past five as chair. Richard has provided invaluable leadership and insight to our board, and we thank him for his dedicated service.”

Idaho Power also announced the promotion of Cheryl Thompson, Lead Counsel and Deputy Corporate Secretary, to the position of Corporate Secretary, effective May 25.
