Idaho Power’s employees have been busy this holiday season volunteering and making donations to help local families in need all across the company’s service area.
- In the Treasure Valley, employees shopped for, wrapped and delivered gifts for 59 local children in partnership with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. Idaho Power employees also volunteered at the United Way’s annual Holiday Helper event and decorated bowls for the Idaho Foodbank’s annual Empty Bowls fundraiser.
- In the Pocatello area, employees filled Christmas stockings for local seniors in partnership with the Southeast Idaho Community Action Agency (SEICAA). Idaho Power also sponsored the annual Pocatello/Chubbuck Lions Club’s special needs dinner.
- In the Western region, Idaho Power donated $1,000 and 270 pounds of food to the Oregon Foodbank. We also donated food, essentials and toys for kids at Willowcreek Elementary as part of their annual Giving Tree program.
- In Mountain Home, Idaho Power sponsored the Shop with a Cop program, which provides opportunities for kids to spend a day shopping for Christmas presents with uniformed police officers, military members and emergency responders.
- In the Wood River Valley, employees delivered holiday donations to the Camas Senior Center, the Blaine County Charitable Foundation and the Blaine County Senior Connection in Hailey.
- Idaho Power also supports rural communities and made holiday contributions to the Horseshoe Bend School District, the Hollister Hawks Pantry and the Wilder School District Community Resource Center this year.
Many Idaho Power contributions are made possible by Employee Community Funds (ECF), which are donations made by employees to support local charitable causes. The rest of the company’s corporate giving comes from IDACORP shareowners. Customer rates are not impacted by Idaho Power’s charitable efforts.
