Idaho Power to Host Virtual Meetings on Outage Preparedness for Vulnerable Customers

BOISE, Idaho — Idaho Power is collaborating with Norco, the Southwest Idaho Area Agency on Aging, and LINC to host two virtual meetings with outage preparedness information specific to customers with unique medical or mobility needs.

Idaho Power keeps the lights on 99.9% of the time, but extreme weather or fires can lead to extended outages. It’s important for all customers to be prepared for their unique situations in case they are impacted by an outage.

The Zoom meetings will be held on June 27 at noon and 6 p.m. Both meetings will present the same information and include the following:

  • Idaho Power will cover general information about outages, how to be prepared for one, and how to ensure your contact information is up to date so the utility can reach you in an emergency.
  • LINC and the Southwest Idaho Area Agency on Aging will discuss preparedness considerations for older adults and those with disabilities.
  • Norco will present information about medical equipment considerations during an outage.

Meeting links are available at idahopower.com/outagetips. To request an accommodation, including ASL, please contact at jmaxand@lincidaho.org by Tuesday, June 25, at 5 p.m.
