BOISE, Idaho — Idaho Power customers are invited to attend online open houses on outage preparedness and wildfire prevention over the next month. Like in-person events the company hosts or participates in, online meetings will provide information to help customers prepare for outages and learn about Idaho Power’s wildfire prevention efforts, including its public safety power shutoff (PSPS) plan.
Idaho Power keeps the lights on 99.9% of the time, but extreme weather or wildfires can lead to extended outages. All customers should prepare to meet their unique needs in case of an outage. Visit idahopower.com/wildfire for more information.
The company is hosting six virtual events between May 13 and June 10. They are tailored to customers in specific regions across the company’s service area; Spanish-speaking customers; and customers with special medical needs, mobility limitations, or disabilities. All customers are welcome to attend any of the virtual meetings. Here’s the full schedule and each meeting’s target audience:
- May 13, 6 p.m.–7 p.m. Southern and eastern Idaho (Twin Falls, Jerome, Cassia, Minidoka, Power, Bannock, Bingham counties, etc.)
- May 20, 6 p.m.–7 p.m. Western Treasure Valley (Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Middleton, etc.)
- May 27, 6 p.m.–7 p.m. Eastern Oregon (Ontario, Vale, Nyssa, Durkee, etc.)
- June 3, noon–1 p.m. Oregon customers with special medical needs, mobility limitations, disabilities
- June 3, 6 p.m.–7 p.m. Spanish-speaking customers
- June 10, noon–1 p.m. Idaho customers with special medical needs, mobility limitations, or disabilities
Each virtual meeting will feature a presentation by Idaho Power experts and chances for participants to ask questions and give the company feedback on its efforts to prevent wildfires and keep communities safe.
