Safety is a core value at Idaho Power, and the company’s recent donation to the Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue Unit in Boise will help keep winter recreationists safe this winter and beyond.
Idaho Power purchased and donated six Black Diamond Jetforce bags, eight Backcountry Access bags, and three Backcountry Access beacons to Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue. This avalanche rescue equipment will help the volunteer-based organization fulfill its mission of saving lives through search, rescue, and mountain safety education.
Water Resources Specialist Howard Pennington and Atmospheric Scientist Derek Blestrud recently stopped by to deliver the gear to Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue staff in Boise. The donation arrived just in time for the heavy snowfall our region received in early February.
