Stay Safe this Labor Day Weekend

If you’re looking to spend this Labor Day weekend recreating in nearby waters or campgrounds, Idaho Power has some safety information to keep in mind.

Don’t wade, swim, fish, or anchor your boat directly upstream or downstream from a dam, as normal dam operations can cause unexpected and rapid changes in the water level. And never cross or tie up to buoy lines, which are in place for your safety.

Idaho Power also recommends wearing a lifejacket when in the water. Several life jacket loaner stations are available along the Snake River.

Last, plan ahead by checking local weather and water conditions and advisories, such as for harmful algae blooms on reservoirs and current fire restrictions at campgrounds. Visit idahopower.com/whatsopen for more information.
