Idaho Power is replacing existing area light and flood light fixtures with LED (light-emitting diode) fixtures. The Idaho Public Utilities Commission (IPUC) recently approved Idaho Power’s request to replace existing high-pressure sodium and metal halide lights with LED fixtures. LED lights are cleaner, will provide better lighting quality and require less maintenance. The project began in fall 2019 and will take about four years to complete. Idaho Power will change out lights on its regular four-year maintenance schedule. To learn more, read our FAQs or visit the IPUC’s website.
