Buses Go Electric, Reduce Carbon Emissions

Idaho Power recently worked with Mountain Rides Transportation Authority (MRTA), serving Blaine County, Idaho, to electrify their buses. This month, Mountain Rides will electrify four of their buses on their path to reduce carbon emissions in the Wood River Valley. They plan to convert the rest of their buses by 2027.

The company worked with Mountain Rides to ensure the energy needs of the new buses could be met. Idaho Power will provide an incentive for the installation of new charging stations for the buses.

“Electric vehicles have numerous benefits, from much lower operating costs to the environmental benefits,” said Idaho Power Program Specialist Patti Best. “We’re proud to support EVs and work with companies like Mountain Rides to advance this technology.”

The move toward cleaner vehicles also aligns with Idaho Power’s goal to provide 100% clean energy by 2045. To learn more about EVs and how businesses can partner with Idaho Power, visit idahopower.com/ev.
